Hybrid architecture maximizes security and flexibility:

Before PhonoClick Mobile Banking, banks had to choose between browser-based and mobile app-based solutions for their mobile architecture. Both of these have advantages and disadvantages:

Browser-based solutions offer maximum flexibility, but limit security to whatever can be achieved with SSL, which is very easy to bypass with man-in-the-middle class attacks, especially on unsecured WiFi connections most newer mobile devices are capable of using.

Mobile app-based solutions can offer higher security, but that usually comes with a high cost: They decrease flexibility, locking the bank into a long term relationship with the same software vendor. Any future changes in the service are likely to require code changes and updating of all mobile devices, a maintenance nightmare in any fast-growing user-base. With at least 5 major mobile platforms, maintaining different versions of the same app for all platforms and updating each after a feature addition can quickly spiral into a crisis, and will be a constant burden on the IT team. It is also likely to slow introduction of new services, and cause competitive disadvantage.

Integrated Strong Authentication

PhonoClick Mobile Banking Solution supports multi-factor strong authentication for mobile sessions. But that's not all: the mobile clients also include an optional one-time password feature for use with other channels. Mobile users can use the same mobile app to connect to mobile banking services, or generate OTP codes to access web, IVR or ATM services. This eliminates the need to use costly SMS or hardware token based OTP methods.
